DIGIPATHS Study: Digitally Integrated Care Pathways for Multiple-Long-Term Conditions Management in Primary Care, Sri Lanka
The University of Jaffna invites applications from qualified candidates for the following position of DIGIPATHS Study: Digitally Integrated Care Pathways for Multiple-Long-Term Conditions Management in Primary Care, Sri Lanka in collaboration with the University of Birmingham funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), UK.
- Post of Research Fellow (Implementation Science)
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Allied Health Sciences, or a relevant field from a UGC-approved university or higher education institution (HEI).
- Preference will be given to candidates with postgraduate qualifications in relevant areas such as Epidemiology, Research Methodology, Health Systems, Healthcare Management or equivalent qualifications.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a multidisciplinary team within the medical or research field.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting implementation research, preferably in primary care or digital health.
- Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and refine research protocols for the implementation of research project.
- Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative studies to evaluate the implementation processes and outcomes.
- Develop data management protocols and participate actively in grant writing
- Analyze data using appropriate statistical and thematic analysis methods.
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data collected.
- Identify barriers and facilitators to the implementation of the research project.
- Develop and test strategies to overcome barriers and enhance facilitators.
- Preparation of progress reports, charts, tables and other visual aids
- Coordinate and support data requests, and project management tasks including preparing project summaries and schedules
- Work with primary care teams to implement and evaluate intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, technology developers, and policymakers to ensure the relevance and applicability of research.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops to gather insights and disseminate findings.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and academic publications to disseminate research findings.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and milestones.
- Provide regular updates to the project team and funding bodies.
Remuneration:
A monthly salary of LKR 80,000 will be paid.
- Post of Research Fellow (Health Informatics)
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Allied Health Sciences, or a relevant field from a UGC- approved university or higher education institution (HEI).
- Preference will be given to candidates with postgraduate qualifications in relevant areas such as Epidemiology, Research Methodology, Health Systems, Healthcare Management or equivalent qualifications.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Carry out computer operations and specialize in the areas of software, hardware, databases, web resources, networks etc.
- Design and conduct studies to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of health informatics interventions.
- Maintaining information databases and creating reports
- Create software platforms and electronic management tools
- Collect, manage, and analyze health data from various sources, including electronic health records (EHRs), patient surveys, and clinical databases.
- Utilize statistical and computational tools to perform data analysis and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent research skills and ability to analyze findings
- Collaborate with software developers and IT professionals to design and implement health informatics systems tailored for MLTC management.
- Ensure systems are user-friendly, secure, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
- Engage with healthcare providers, patients, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to gather insights and feedback.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops to ensure the relevance and applicability of research findings.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and academic publications to disseminate research findings.

Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or other equal qualification from UGC-approved University or Higher Education Institution.
- Minimum 03 years post qualifying experience in health-related project management in public service/ corporation/ statutory board or a reputed institution.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily activities: Ensure smooth execution of project tasks and timelines.
- Developing project plans: Create and implement comprehensive plans aligned with project objectives.
- Managing the project team: Supervise team members, provide guidance, and address performance issues.
- Monitoring performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and make recommendations for improvements.
- Preparing progress reports: Summarize project status, achievements, and challenges for stakeholders.
- Arranging meetings: Organize and facilitate meetings to discuss updates and foster collaboration.
- Communicating with stakeholders: Serve as the main contact for stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates.
- Ensuring compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Managing budgets: Oversee the project budget, track expenses, and forecast costs.
- Managing project finance: Develop financial plans, monitor performance, and handle invoicing and payments.
- Planning project activities: Plan and execute initiatives to achieve project goals.
Remuneration:
- A monthly salary of LKR 80,000 will be paid.
Other:
- Ability to work in any part of Sri Lanka.
- The selected candidate will be appointed full-time for one year. The project duration is five years, and the appointment is subject to renewal based on performance and project needs.
- Candidates must be citizens of Sri Lanka.
- Age should be between 25 and 45 years.
- The selected candidate will contribute to the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and the Employee Trust Fund (ETF). The employee is required to contribute 8% of their monthly salary to the EPF, while the employer will contribute 12% to the EPF and 3% to the ETF.
