The Commissioner General of Examinations has announced that the 2024 General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Examination will take place from November 25 to December 20.
Education Minister Susil Premajayantha stated that while the A-Level exam is set to begin in November this year, the plan is to move it to September by 2025.
The minister made these remarks during a program organized by the Ministry of Education to recognize students who achieved excellent results in the GCE A/L examination.
He further explained that the Ministry of Education is taking steps to minimize the time students spend idle by starting A-Level studies immediately after the GCE O/L exam, thereby accelerating the university admission process. The minister also noted that even though A-Level studies have already begun before the release of O/L results, this process will continue after the results are released as well.
